Grades VI to VIII
Promotion will be granted on the basis of the whole years’ performance of the student in the C.C.E. (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) which is a system of evaluation of student that covers all aspects of students’ development.
C.C.E is a process to provide holistic profile of the learner through regular assessment of both scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas.
- Scholastic areas include: Two terminal exams held in September and March. All Unit Tests conducted weekly, generally on Mondays and Fridays of the scheduled Month.
- Co-scholastic activities include: literary, aesthetic skills & performing skills and clubs. Health and physical education will also form an integral part of this assessment.
Co-Scholastic areas will be assessed on: a) life skills b) attitudes & values. The following will be evaluated and graded.
The Session will be spread over 2 terms, first from April to September and second from October to March. Assessment will be both Formative and Summative assessment.
Formative Assessment will be on the basis of weekly tests assignments, C.W., H.W., Practicals, projects, oral testing quiz, experiments and other activities in class.
Summative assessment will be carried out at the end of term. This will be a term end exam i. e. Half-Yearly and Annual exam.
Operational Modalities
- The students’ performance shall be assessed using conventional method of numerical marking in English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Science, Computer.
- Each assessment will be indicated in grades.
- The grading scale will be on a nine point scale as per table below :
- The students who obtain a qualifying grade (D & above) in all subjects shall be awarded a qualifying certificate. For computer a qualifying grade E1 and above would be considered.
- Students who obtain grades E1, E2 and E3 shall have to improve their performance through subsequent attempts (For computer students with grades E2 & E3 will have to improve their performance).
- Those who get qualifying certificates shall be eligible for promotion to the next class.
- Those candidates who are not able to get qualifying grade (D and above) in all the subjects shall not be permitted for admission/promotion to the next class.
- Exemptions available to differently able students as per CBSE’s rule shall continue to apply.
The ‘Grades’ shall be awarded on a nine point scale as per table below:

Grades IX to X
Students of IX –X will undergo Continuous &Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as recommended by CBSE, spread over two terms, one from April to September and the second from October to March.
The students will be assessed in Scholastic as well as Co-scholastic areas.
The Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment both will be part of School Based Assessment.
Formative Assessment will be done on the basis of weekly tests, assignments, projects, oral testing, Quiz and other activities in the class.
Summative Assessment is the terminal Assessment of performance at the end of a term. This will be End Term Exam.
The students will be assessed and graded for Scholastic areas - English, Maths, Science, Social Science, and the additional subject - Grades will also be awarded for Work experience, Art Education, Physical & Health Education.
Evaluation of Co-Scholastic areas
In addition to the Scholastic areas, Co-scholastic areas like Life Skills; Attitude & Values; Participation & Achievement, Aesthetic skills and Performing Arts & Clubs, and Health & Physical Education activities will also be evaluated and graded.
Operational Modalities
The Student’s performance shall be assessed using conventional method of numerical marking in the six main subjects of scholastic area in Formative Assessment including weekly test, Assignments, Home work, Practicals, projects, Quiz and Oral work etc. Summative Assessment includes the End Term Exam.
The ‘Grades’ shall be awarded to indicate the subjects wise performance.

- Students will be graded for Work experience, Art Education, Physical & Health Education & Life skills on a 5 point scale viz A+, A, B+, B & C.
- Grades for Attitudes and Co-Scholastic activities will be awarded on a 3 point scale viz. A+, A & B
- Those candidates who obtain the qualifying grades (D and above) in all the subjects as per scheme of studies shall be awarded a Qualifying Certificate.
- Those who get a Qualifying certificate shall be eligible for promotion/admission in the next higher class.
- Those candidates who are not able to get qualifying grades (D and above) in all the subjects as per scheme of studies shall not be permitted for admission in the next Class (X and XI).
Exemptions available to differently Able students as per CBSE rules shall continue to apply.
