Enjoyment and involvement are central to the sporting ethos at DDPS. Sport plays a very important part in the life of the school and a wide-ranging programme offers considerable choice and opportunity to our students, whether they pursue sporting excellence or simply enjoyment through fitness and recreation. DDPS offers diverse learning experiences through instructional, recreational, intramural and interscholastic programs that enable students to develop personal skills and an appreciation for the value of physical activity.
The school has proper facilities for the following disciplines:
- Indoor games: Shooting, Pool, Chess, and Table Tennis

The standard of coaching in the above mentioned activities is very high, from dedicated teachers who wish to share their expertise and enjoyment of sport with their students.
- DDPS fields 40 teams in 15 sports, offering opportunities for participation to boys and girls at National Level.
- The institution also runs a Table tennis and a Cricket Academy.
- The school is also an accredited Handball Training Center certified by the Sports Authority of India, New Delhi. (S.A.I)
The school has excellent sporting facilities. Two fields located at DDPS Sanjay Nagar and DDPS Govindpuram have been proud hosts of various sporting events such as:
- CBSE Cluster III National Handball Tournament (2006), Chief Guest: Former cricketer Mr. Ajay Jadeja;
- CBSE Cluster III National Kho-Kho Tournament (2005, 2007 & 2010), Chief Guest: Mr. Ashok Ganguly, Former Chairman,CBSE.
